Track in Northern Illinois?

I am new to all of this and I am looking at moving to Peoria IL for a job at Caterpillar. I am also debating buying my first mini sprint but here is where I am confused. Does no track have a class of mini sprints? Do I have to travel with POWRi to race every weekend? If I have this wrong please enlighten me cause I would love to go racing every weekend but not have to drive 4 or 5 hours to run and make a maximum of $500 you just can't cover costs doing this. So what I am hopeing to find is a track that runs a mini sprint class regularly with-in a hour or two at max from Peoria. Thanks guys!

I race at a track in Macomb IL. The track is Spring Creek Speedway. it is about an 1 1/2 hour drive. well worth the drive, the track is really nice!

Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, IL runs on Friday nights. Big 1/4 mile. Its less than an hour south of Peoria. http://www.lincolnspeedway.org

Macon Speedway in Macon, IL runs on Saturday nights. Not sure if running micros every Saturday though. 1/5 mile. Probably about an hour and a half south of Peoria. http://www.maconracing.com

Shepps Speedway near New Berlin, IL. Runs micros every Sunday night. 1/5 mile. West of Springfield . Probably an hour and a half or so??
