Tire Compounds

Postby 13xsprinter » Wed Jul 25, 2007 6:28 pm

Anyone know where I can get a tire comparison chart? Example would be what is the American Racer equivalent to a Hoosier D30 as far as hardness goes. What's the American Racer equivalent of a Hoosier D10 or D12 compound? What does the first number on an American Racer tire mean? example: 20-10-10 sd23. I know what the numbers are on Hoosiers.
Thanks,
Brian

The first number on the American Racer tire is the diameter of the tire 20x10x10 would be 20" tall by 10" wide on a 10" rim. Except the 70x13x10 this tire is a 70 " circumforance. The compound Numbers are real close to the durometer SD23 = 23 durometer SD38=38 durometer HD57=57 durometer and so on.

Hope this helps.

Brian,
I have a durometer in my trailer, if you want to check what tires you have. I also think there is the chart your looking for in the new Hyper catalog. Not sure on that one, but will look.
